The Terry Fox Run started this morning at 11:30 am on the Island where the Terriers participated with an unknown number of participants.
Run organizer Sherry Rutherford took over the run as she didn’t want to see it come to an end when a previous organizer had to take some time off.
Rutherford says she organizes it with her two daughters, Kailee and Lindsey, adding Kailee was diagnosed five years ago with the same type of cancer Terry Fox had. She notes Kailee’s life would be much different today had it not been for a Terry Fox run.
Money raised goes to the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research.
