Terriers Pick up 3rd Straight Win Against Steinbach

Sokoloski takes the opening face off.

With Petersen stellar in net the Terriers pick up their 3 win against the Pistons this season. Lasse Petersen picked up his first shut out as a Terrier turning away all 30 shots faced.

Trading chances in the first, Portage was able to capitalize when Barnstable found the back of the net on a Troy William’s rebound.  The next two Portage goals came on the powerplay. Leipsic buried in the second and McIsaac picked up his 11th of the season stretching out Thiessen and tucking it by him at 14:13 in the third.

Coach and GM Blake Spiller thought his teams’ back end did a great job of boxing out the Pistons and letting Petersen see pucks. “Our back check game was good and we came away with the win. I thought we played well here tonight as did Steinbach.”

Portage is back at it Friday as they head to Dauphin to take on the Kings.  Game time 7:30pm.
