Another Par 3 Challenge in the books

Saturday proved to be another great day for the Par 3 Challenge at the Portage Golf Course. The sun shone on 90 golfers looking for the big ace! There was some excitement with a lot of close calls, but no hole in ones this year.

Following the tournament, the golfers attended a dinner at the PCU put on by Champ’s Corner. There, random draws were made for the guaranteed prizes;

Weekend and $100 Gift Certificate to Canadinn

$350 Gift Card to Panko’s

$500 Gift Card to Kal Tire

$220 Putter courtesy of the Portage Golf Course

$350 Prize package from Goldenwest Radio

$350 Foldable picnic table from A&W

$470 Annual PCU Membership

On the 10th hole there was also a chance to Beat the Pro for $5. If your shot was inside the pros shot, your name was entered to win Flowers for a Year from Mil Jeanne’s with all proceeds going to Braden Pettinger. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we were able to raise $495 that was presented to Kyle Pettinger of Mil Jeanne’s on Braden’s behalf.

The Terriers would like to thank all the participants as well as all our sponsors for their continued support and Brad Young and his crew at the Portage Golf Club for all their help.

In addition to the above Keystone Sports Excellence, Portage Agri Sales, Portage Mutual, Craig Dunn, Portage and Austin Credit Union, Point West Electric, Portage Co-op, Jonair, Total Travel, Sobey’s, Ranch House Meat Co, Hub International, Fibreclean, Mig Insurance, Boston Pizza and Pro Image Signs.

Until next year…
