It was another perfect weekend for the red hot Portage Terriers. Their winning streak was extended to 8 games in a row, with victories over Neepawa 6-4 on Wednesday, 6-5 against the Virden Oil Capitals on Saturday and Winkler on Sunday 3-0.
Saturday night’s game was the annual Teddy Bear Toss night at Stride Place. Over 370 stuffed animals were collected for the Salvation Army’s Christmas hampers. Declan Siwicki scored the Teddy Toss goal, which happened to be his first MJHL goal! Congratulations Declan!

Rhett Platt scored the game winner on both Saturday and Sunday and has now extended his point streak to 18 straight games, which is the longest streak in the MJHL this season.
Early in the week the Terriers acquired Dylan Westmann from the Weyburn Redwings (SJHL) for a player development fee. Both he and newcomer Dexter Materi made their debut on Saturday night.

Terrier forward Trevor Hill was named the MJHL’s Chevrolet Rookie of the month for November. He had16 points in 10 games.
Mitchell Kathler was named the Fehr Auto & Ag Terrier of the month for November. He went a perfect 6-0 with a shutout and never let in more than three goals in a game.

The Portage Terriers participated in the annual Portage Rotary parade of lights on Friday night and then the Santa Claus breakfast the next morning at Stride Place!

Upcoming
The Terriers only have two games on the road this week and a total of four before the Christmas break. The Terriers travel to Niverville on Wednesday to play the first place Nighthawks. The game will be broadcast on 920 CFRY and portageonline.com. The Terriers are then in Selkirk on Saturday.
The final home game of 2025 will be on Wednesday Dec. 17 against the Nighthawks.
