Around the Pound: February 10, 2026

It was a tough week for the Portage Terriers who lost three straight. The Dogs fell 5-2 in Steinbach on both Wednesday and Saturday and then lost to the Swan Valley Stampeders on home ice 4-2 on Friday. Trevor Hill had another strong week individually, becoming the first player in the MJHL this season to reach 30 goals. He notched at least one goal in each game and a total of four.

UPCOMING

The Terriers continue on the road tonight (Tuesday) in Winkler against the Flyers. Winkler has been red hot and are now tied with Portage for third in the standings but have played two more games. The game will be broadcast on 920AM CFRY. The Terriers will head to Selkirk on Friday before hosting the Northern MB Blizzard on Sunday and Monday.

Both home games will start at 3:30pm with special events happening both days. On Sunday, the Terrier billet families will be recognized on the ice prior to the game. During the first intermission, two local U7 teams will be showcasing their skills!

On Louis Riel Monday, the Terriers will be donning special Metis themed jerseys that are being auctioned off in support of Metis Cultural Programming through the Manitoba Metis Federation. After the game the players will be sticking around for a skate with the Terriers brought to you by Tim Hortons! In the lobby half the team will be signing autographs as this year’s hockey cards will be released!
