It was an up and down week for the Portage Terriers, who picked up a 5-1 win over the Winnipeg Blues on Thursday but then lost to the Selkirk Steelers 7-0 on Saturday.
The Thursday game was a matinee held in Stonewall with many local students excited to take in some junior hockey. Hunter Dingman scored his first as a Terrier and added an assist. There was a game scheduled for Sunday in Steinbach but it was postponed due to poor road conditions. A make-up date has yet to be determined.
This week the Terriers host the Steinbach Pistons on Wednesday at Stride Place. It will be a Wild Wednesday with DQ in attendance handing out free Dilly Bars! Puck drop is set for 7:30pm!
The Terriers play on the road Friday night in Selkirk and Saturday night in Waywayseecappo. The Friday game will be broadcast on 920AM CFRY and portageonline.com.

Happy Birthday to Terrier Captain Owen Witt! He turned 21 on the 14th.
The Portage Terriers are gearing up for a busy I Love to Read Month (February)! We will likely be coming to a school near you!
The Portage Terriers’ Ladies Auxiliary has started their “Family Funds” day draw! Tickets are 1 for $2. The grand prize is $500 cash with the final draw on Feb. 16. Tickets will be sold at Terrier home games and from Terrier players.

The home game on Dec. 17 vs the Niverville Nighthawks had to be postponed due to poor driving conditions. The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday Jan. 27.
Keep an eye out for our annual gigantic 50/50, with a pot guaranteed at a minimum of $50,000! We will start selling on Feb. 16.
The Terriers will be releasing their annual hockey cards after the Louis Riel Classic on Feb. 16. We will also be wearing a special Metis themed jersey that will be auctioned off.
We are excited to announce our Ag Appreciation night coming up on March 6 at Canad Inns Portage. In partnership with the Portage Chamber of Commerce, there will be a guest speaker, Ag Awards presentation and a comedian. FULL DETAILS HERE
