The Playoffs are here! The 2025-26 MJHL regular season has ended and the 3rd place Portage Terriers are now gearing up for a best of seven first round matchup with the 2nd place Steinbach Pistons.
Steinbach was a dominant force during the regular season finishing only seven points out of first place. The Pistons have a balanced attack with Jack Greenwell leading the way with 34 goals and 27 assists. Chris Quizi has been strong between the pipes, posting a record of 21-5, 2.53 GAA and .917 sv%.
The Terriers were led by the top line of Rhett Platt, Trevor Hill and Drayden Uhrina. Platt was tops on the team with 70 points, but Hill led the entire league in goals with 40. Portage was recognized at a league level this season with Owen Witt being named the top defenseman and Hill winning rookie of the year. Between the pipes, the Terriers have been splitting work between Ryan Velan, Donavan Bodnar and Logan Cunningham. All three of them are playing in their final season of junior hockey.
The Portage Terriers took a break from competing against teams from around the MJHL on Saturday, and battled against each other in the second annual Terriers’ Skills Competition brought to you by Harlan’s and Pizza Pizza.
The players were split into team White and team Black and competed in fastest skater, accurate shooting, relay, hardest shot and shootout competitions.
Breck Hirrschoff was the fastest skater with a lap of 13.95 seconds. Trevor Hill dominated the accurate shooting competition going a perfect 4 for 4 in 10.96 seconds. The relay race was close with team Black pulling out the victory. Daine Dellezay had the hardest shot of 90 mph. Logan Cunningham stopped all shots that came his way to win the shootout.
The overall competition went to team black by a score of 10-5!

The Portage Terriers handed out their annual team awards on Saturday night in the Rotary multi purpose room at Stride Place, hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary. Many players were rewarded for their hard work and team play during the regular season.
