It was an up and down week for the Portage Terriers on the ice, who saw their five-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday when they lost 9-1 to the Niverville Nighthawks. The Terriers bounced back to beat the Swan Valley Stampeders 3-2 on Saturday and the Dauphin Kings 3-2 on Sunday. Only four home games remain, with the next one on Wednesday against the Winnipeg Blues. Prior to the game, we will be recognizing our Fehr Auto & Ag Terrier of the month for February.

At the game on Saturday, we did the draw for the Panko’s Food Centre Meat Draw. Congratulations to John Wagemakers who was our winner!

This week the MJHL released the nominees for the 2025-26 MJHL Awards. Trevor Hill was nominated for rookie of the year and was named to the Second All-Star, and All-Rookie teams. Captain Owen Witt was nominated for top defenceman and made the first All-Star team. Drayden Uhrina was named to the All-Rookie team.



Witt officially committed this week to Niagara University (ACHA DIV I) for next season.

Over the last week the Terriers visited Sunnyside Colony, La Verendrye School, Winterfest, Crescentview School, Elm Creek Elementary, and Westend Daycare.
