PORTAGE, NOVEMBER 17, 2025 – The Portage Terriers commemorated Remembrance Day on Tuesday by attending our local service at Stride Place. The guys then went to Winkler that night and beat the Winkler Flyers 3-2 in a shootout. It was their 5th win in a row. The streak came to an end on Saturday when the Dogs struggled to keep the puck out of the net against the Virden Oil Capitals losing 9-4.
The CJHL top 20 rankings have been released and the Terriers are ranked 20th overall in the country.
The Portage Terriers have acquired D Ben Albers (07) from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons for a player development fee.
Albers (6’6″, 183) started his junior career this year in the AJHL and has put up three points and 32 PIM in eight games. From Leonardtown, MD, Albers is “a big mobile defender,” says head coach and GM Blake Spiller. “He will be a compliment to our back end.”
The Portage Terriers have traded G Ryan Velan (05) to the Cornwall Colts (CCHL) for a player development fee.

On Thursday the Terriers helped out the Fort la Reine Museum set up their Christmas decorations for their upcoming events.
