PORTAGE, NOVEMBER 24, 2025 – It’s been a busy week for the Portage Terriers on the ice, with three home games against Neepawa, Waywayseecappo and Winkler. The Terriers have been playing a tight defensive style and won 2-0, 2-1 in a shootout and 3-2 in a shootout.
Shoutout to the Oakville U7 team for playing in the first intermission on Saturday.

Trevor Hill scored the first goal in both shootouts and had three points in the three games. His linemate Rhett Platt had four points in the three games and is now one point back of Hayden Wheddon for first in the league. Mitchell Kathler started all three games and has improved his season stats to 5-0, 1.52 GAA, .952 sv% and 1 shutout. He was named one of the MJHL’s players of the week.

The Terriers have moved up two spots in the CJHL top 20 rankings and currently sit in 18th.
COMMUNITY
Thursday, the Terriers showed support and presented a donation of tickets for the local Operation Red Nose program.

On Friday night the Terriers hosted their annual Sportsman’s Dinner & Auction with Central Plains Cancer Services at Canad Inns. Eddie Olczyk was an amazing guest speaker and a great evening was had by the approximately 300 guests.

The Terriers complete their five game home stand on Wednesday November 26 against the Winnipeg Blues. They head back on the road Saturday against the Swan Valley Stampeders.
Mark your calendar for December 6th! The Terriers host the Virden Oil Capitals for Teddy Bear Toss night! Bring a new or unwrapped stuffed toy and throw it on the ice when the Terriers score their first goal. They will be collected for the Salvation Army’s Christmas hampers.
