08/16/2017, 1:30pm CDT By Heather Jordan

MJHL commissioner Kim Davis announced today that there were 4 recipients of the MJHL Scholarship Award totalling $3000. Each recipient will receive $750 towards their secondary education.

Graduating Terrier Carter McMurdo was one of the four named recipients and will attend Brandon University in the fall. Mcmurdo is in good company with the other recipients Tanner Lewis (Winkler Flyers/Brandon University), Maverick Rafter (OCN Blizzard/University of Winnipeg) and Brandon Holtby (Dauphin Kings/University of Regina).

“All four of these players are being recognized for both their on-ice play and off-ice conduct,” said Davis. “We recognize that going to a post-secondary institution can be an expensive decision. These scholarships will assist our graduating players to pursue their academic goals. We wish them the best of luck in their futures.”

McMurdo will be entering the Faculty of Science with the hopes of going on to Dentistry.

” I am very honoured and excited to receive the MJ Scholarship this year. School is quite expensive, so this will definitely help out on the financial side of things.” – Carter McMurdo
