The Canadian Junior Hockey League and NHL Central Scouting released the rosters for the CJHL Prospects Game. 17 year old Terrier Dean Stewart is being recognized with an invitation to play in the game in Surrey, BC later this month.
The RBC Cup champion is no stranger to the spotlight having played for the gold medal winning Canada West team in December, in the Junior A.Challenge.
“When I found out I would be getting the opportunity to play in the Prospects game I was really excited. This is going to be another great opportunity for me to play against some of the best players my age in the CJHL and see where I stack up.” – Dean Stewart
GM and Coach Blake Spiller isn’t surprised with the success Stewart has seen this year. He describes the 6’2 178 defenceman as a player that continues to improve with a lot of upside to his game.
On a more personal note Stewart describes the chance to see some of his teammates from Team Canada West in December as a real bonus to the already great experience.
Stewart will suit up with Team West in the Prospects game along with the following players.
