Forward Help Acquired

The Portage Terriers have traded for (01) F Parker Johnson (5’11”, 175 lbs) from the Swan Valley Stampeders for future considerations.

The Elkhorn, MB product played 52 games last season with the Stampeders, putting up 16 points (9G, 7A). He already has three points in four games this year.

“He is a skilled forward who we are counting on to provide offense,” says Terrier head coach and GM Blake Spiller. The Terriers are tied for 9th in goals for, with 10.

The Terriers have a history with players from the small community in western MB of Elkhorn, including alumni Brad and Shawn Bowles, Brett Orr, Taylor Sanheim, Josh Martin and currently Layne Toder.

Portage is back on the ice this weekend with a pair of games against Neepawa. The first will be tonight at 7:30 pm at the Yellowhead Centre. The game will be broadcast on CFRY and portageonline.com with the pregame show starting at 7:20 pm. You can also watch every game this season on hockeytv.com.
