Future Terriers Shine At Spring Prospects Camp

The Portage Terriers’ Spring Prospects Camp, Friday May 26 to Saturday May 27th, was a success!

Over 90 players, born between 2004 and 2008, attended from Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, USA, and 1 from Australia. They were split into six teams and played multiple scrimmages against each other over the two days.

“It was a good camp. We got a look at possible players for main camp in September,” says head scout Angus Moar. “We got a look at possible players to draft next weekend and players who we will be watching next season.”

The MJHL entry draft will take place in Winnipeg on Sunday June 4th from 9am-Noon. Players born in 2007 will be eligible to be selected.

“A few players jumped a bit on our ’07 draft list and it was nice to see all of the ‘08’s that showed interest in being Terriers. As for the older players, the talent was definitely there and the guys that come back in the fall will be battling for a spot on our roster.”
