Game One Goes to OCN

The Terriers fell 8-3 to OCN in Game one of the MJHL Final in front of a very loud, packed house at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Arena.

It was a tough night for the Terriers with OCN’s Tristan Elie scoring just 1:31 seconds in to the first. Valiquette made it 2-0 with 3:34 to go in the first frame. At 18:46 Brady Keeper took a minor for cross checking and the Terriers cashed in on their first powerplay of the game, McIsaac from Dwyer and Brakel.

It was Tristan Elie again scoring 1:18 in to the second restoring the 2 goal Blizzard lead. A patient Leipsic crossed the blue line and circled back for an opening to score 5 minutes later. Portage went on a 5 on 3 later in the period, but were unable to score. OCN came back and scored two back to back, Campbell and Dale for a 5-2 Blizzard lead after two.

OCN tallied three more in the third with Kuhlman scoring his first MJHL goal from the point, but it was all Blizzard.

Chapman records the loss playing the first forty minutes and facing 24 shots. The Terriers went 1 for 5 on the powerplay with OCN going 1 for 3.

Game 2 is tomorrow night at 7:00pm. Listen to CFRY to hear Cody call the game.
