Spiller up for CJHL Coach of the Year

It comes as no surprise to most that Coach and GM Blake Spiller received a finalist nod once again for Coach of the Year from the Canadian Junior Hockey League.

In a year with only 4 returning players the Terriers put together another great season finishing in first with a record of 52-6-2. They carried their winning ways in to the playoffs and claimed the Turnbull Cup in just 13 games.

Spiller gives a lot of the credit to his returning players.

”I think that we obviously weren’t really sure what we were going to have coming into the year, other than we knew we were going to have the top guys coming back as leaders, and they did just that. Things seemed to start off good for us this year, and just kept on rolling.”

Spiller is one of 5 finalists. The recipient of the 2016 CJHL Coach of the Year Award will be announced during the week of May 24th. All award recipients will receive a special ring designed by Jostens Canada the official award supplier to the CJHL.
