Terrier Alumni Named Division I Captain

Portage Terrier Alumni Owen Murray has been named one of the captains for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen (NCAA DIV I).

Murray (Decker, MB) played two dynamic seasons with the Terriers from 2018-2020. He had 41 points in 55 games as a 16-year-old rookie on route to a Turnbull Cup championship. He then put up 26 points the next season which was eventually shut down due to COVID.

Since leaving the Terriers, he played two seasons in the USHL with Green Bay before jumping to the NCAA in 2022. Heading into his final season as a senior he now has the opportunity to take on a leadership role with the Minutemen.

“I’m really appreciative of the support and the lessons I’ve learned from plenty of great people along the way,” says Murray. ” I’m looking forward to playing a part in the development of our young guys this year and creating a positive experience for the team!”
