Terrier Rookies Come Out On Top

In the first game back at Stride Place this season it was the Terrier rookies that came out on top with a 7-2 win over the Virden Oil Capitals.

Jason Kotchon opened the scoring with an unassisted marker 12:06 into the first. Within 3 minutes it was 3-0 Portage Howard and Bucholz each finding the back of the net.

The young line up was able to control play dominating in the offensive zone. Bucholz picked up his 2nd of the game while hometown Kian Calder scored bar down through traffic from the blueline for a 5-0 Terrier lead just before the end of the second period.

Moore stops all 14 shots faced.

16 year old Sheldin Howard scored his 2nd of the night 2:58 in the 3rd before Virden hit the scoreboard with a Hunter Andrew goal. Each team traded markers before the end of the game for a 7-2 final.

Nathan Moore started in net for the Terriers stopping all 14 shots faced with Miles Minor backstopping the second half making 5 saves on 7 shots.

Next up the Terriers welcome Neepawa to Stride Place this saturday for their second game of the pre-season. Game time 7:30pm $5.00 at the door.
