The Portage Terriers have acquired 17-year-old forward Rhys Raeside from the Winnipeg Blues in exchange for Future Considerations.
As a 16-year-old rookie the Winnipeg product made an impact with his hometown team, putting up 36 points (16G 20A) in 47 games. Raeside (6’2”, 201lbs) signed with the Winnipeg Ice (WHL) in December and played five games with them before the year was cut short in March.
“Raeside projects to be a top 6 forward” says Terrier head coach and GM Blake Spiller. “He is a power forward with a scoring touch.”
The Terriers will kick off training camp on Friday with their first preseason game set for Sunday at Stride Place. The game starts at 3 pm against the Virden Oil Capitals. For a list of fan guidelines CLICK HERE.
