Terriers Acquire Two From Blues

The Portage Terriers have acquired 2001 forward Aidan Shumka and the list rights to 2002 defenceman Carter Bateman from the Winnipeg Blues for future considerations.

Shumka (5’10”, 181) played 29 games last season as a rookie with the Winnipeg Blues and put up five assists. “We are hoping Shumka will regain his scoring touch from his Midget career in Kenora,” says Terrier head coach and GM Blake Spiller. As a 17-year-old he had 29 points in 46 games with the Kenora Thistles (MAAA U18).

Bateman (5’11”, 192) is a physical defenseman who will come in and battle for a spot with our team,” says Spiller. The Stonewall product had 15 points in 32 games for the Rink Hockey Academy Prep “A” (CSSHL).
