Terriers Add Forward Depth

Category: Local Sports

Former Terrier Jaxon Tait

The Portage Terriers have been starting to make some moves ahead of the December 1st cutdown day. They acquired forward Nolan Doell from the Whitecourt Wolverines of the AJHL for Future Considerations. They then traded Doell to the Weyburn Red Wings along with Jaxon Tait for forward Jacob Piller and Future Considerations.

Piller (6’1″, 190lbs) played a full season in Weyburn last year notching 21 points in 47 games.

“He had very good numbers in AAA Midget and a good year last season in Weyburn” says Terrier Head Coach and GM Blake Spiller. “He was off to a good start this year but has struggled offensively over the last month. He is a right winger with good skill that we are expecting to get his scoring touch back here in Portage. He should be in the lineup for Sunday”
