Terriers Add Size To Their Blueline

PORTAGE, August 24, 2021 – The Portage Terriers have traded F Parker Johnson (01) and the list rights to F Nicholas Cullen (05) to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines for D Brandon McCartney (02) and the MJHL rights to F Colby Joseph (02).

McCartney (6’3”, 190) was acquired by Waywayseecappo from Sherwood Park of the AJHL where he played last season. “The Winnipeg product is a big and mobile defender and will help solidify our defensive core,” explains Terrier Head Coach and GM Blake Spiller. McCartney had four points in 12 games last season for the Crusaders in his first taste of Junior “A” hockey. The Terriers wish Johnson and Cullen the best of luck with Waywayseecappo. Johnson had three points in three games last season for the Terriers. Cullen was selected 32nd overall by the Terriers in the 2020 MJHL Bantam draft.
