Terriers Add Three, Subtract Two

The Portage Terriers have made a flurry of moves after the opening weekend, adding three players and trading away two.

The Terriers have sent D Ashton Fishley (03) to the Swan Valley Stampeders and F Josh Lehto (04) to the Virden Oil Capitals for Future Considerations.

The Terriers have acquired F Roman Cherniak (04) from the Sherwood Park Crusaders (AJHL) and D Parker Scherr (04) from the Olds Grizzly’s (AJHL) for Future Considerations.

Portage has also added F Hayden Chaloner (05) who was reassigned by the Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL). Chaloner (5’6 148) played two games with the terriers last season and had two points before being called up to the Wheat Kings. The Winnipeg product was drafted 24th overall by the OCN blizzard in the 2020 MJHL Draft.

Cherniak (6’0 163), who hails from Medicine Hat, AB, was called up for 16 games last season with the Crusaders and posted four points.

Scherr (6’1 161), from Edmonton, AB, had seven points in 39 games as a rookie last season for the Grizzlys.
