Terriers beat Steelers Back to Back

Shawn Bowles scores the winning goal with just 2.9 seconds left on the clock in his first game back from injury.

Friday night Portage headed to Selkirk.

The Terriers started out with a 2 goal lead both coming on the power play, but the Steelers would fight back to a tie in the first period. The dogs scored another two on the power play for a 4-2 lead heading in to the final frame. Selkirk managed to get within one with five seconds remaining, but the Terriers would hang on for the win and two points.

Saturday Selkirk would head to Portage for game two.

The Steelers were off to a quick start as they led the Terriers by three after the first period. Midway through the second Stanley would put the Terriers on the board with his fifth of the season. At 8:05 of the third Hendrix would beat Robert to pull within one. Macdonald would then bury a beautiful pass from Sokoloski to tie the game at three with 6:30 minutes left on the clock.

It looked like the game was headed to overtime when Shawn Bowles in his first game back from injury would score on his brother Brad’s rebound for the win.

The Terriers next game is Wednesday November 25th in Steinbach.
