Terriers break franchise record for consecutive wins

Submitted Photo.

The Terriers started their weekend on the road in OCN with a chance to break the franchise record for consecutive wins in a regular season.

Just 2:07 in to the first Brad Bowles would find the back of the net to give the Terriers the early lead. Portage was able to dominate almost doubling OCN in shots with a game total of 60  and worked hard to drive to the net.

MacDonald, Brakel Leipsic and Knaub would all contribute with markers and Woods would score the lone goal for OCN for a 5-1 final and the Terriers would break the franchise record recording their 18th consecutive win. Brad Bowles would also pick up an assist bringing his season point total to 99 with two games to go.

The following night Portage would head to Swan Valley to take on the Stampeders. The Terriers were back at it outshooting their opponents 47-27 on the night, but never held the lead. Tripp for the Stamps would open the scoring in the first. Brad Bowles would tie the game on the power play in the second notching his 100th point of the season. The teams would then trade goals, Mann and Lightfoot to hold the game at 2. The 3rd period would be scoreless sending the game in to overtime.

It wouldn’t take long to decide as Brad Bowles would beat Evans just 19 seconds in to the extra frame for the win and to extend their streak to 19 straight wins.

The Terriers have one regular season game left on Tuesday in Wayway game time 7:30pm.
