Portage earned their second win in as many nights as they finished up their Northern road trip in Swan Valley last night.

The Terriers downed the Stampeders 4-2 in their first meeting of the season.

Swan’s Ellingson opened the scoring at 7:49 beating Brock Aiken for the early lead. Clark answered for the Dogs scoring his 5th of the season to tie things up. Shots after the first 20 minutes favored Swan by 1, 13-12.

Vaeth would score the loan goal of the 2nd frame to give the Stampeders the one goal advantage heading in to the dressing room.

The Terriers came to play in the 3rd tying the game early on a Ryan Mignault tally with the go ahead goal and game winner scored by Captain Adam Wowryk. Swan Valley pulled their goalie late in an attempt to draw even, but Leipsic would add insurance with the empty netter for a 4-2 Terrier final.

Aiken stopped 27 shots for the win.

The Terriers have a home and home this weekend with the Steelers starting in Selkirk on Friday game time 7:30pm.
