Terriers Enjoy First Annual Skills Competition

It was all smiles on Sunday afternoon for the Portage Terriers who competed in their first skills competition brought to you by Simplot.

Players were divided into team Black captained by Scott Cousins and team Green with Parker Scherr. They competed in fastest skater, most accurate shooter, a team relay, hardest shot and then a shootout.

The mood was light as players showed off their personal style and played to the crowd with items like sunglasses and hats. Once the competitions started the competitiveness shone through as everyone tried to represent their chosen team well.

At the end of the afternoon, team Black emerged victorious with a 7-4 win!

Here is the list of individual event winners:

Fastest Skater Winner – Owen Witt
Most Accurate Shooter – Scott Cousins
Relay Race – Team Green
Hardest Shot – Decker Mujcin
Shootout – Ryan Velan

Each event winner received a gift card courtesy of Booster Juice!

After the competition fans were invited onto the ice to skate with the Terriers. Winnipeg Jets Alumni Derek Meech and Quinton Howden were in attendance as well, and the skaters and players all enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the ice.

Thanks to everyone who attended!
