Terriers Lock Up First With Win in Winkler

With the Flyers postseason already decided, the game meant more for the Terriers looking to shore up their spot on top of the standings.

Portage opened the scoring with a shorthanded marker off a neutral zone turnover. Billaney scoring his first of the night and 20th of the season.

Jared Roy added a marker of his own at 13:43 which proved to be the eventual game winner.

The Terriers notched 2 more in the second ( Buchholz and Thompson ) before Garrett Kuklica scored for the Flyers halfway through the frame.

Billaney scored his 2nd of the night on the powerplay in the third for a 5-1 Terrier final. Nathan Moore earns his 23rd win turning aside 18 shots.

With tonight’s win the Terriers will finish in top spot, facing either Wayway or Dauphin in the first round.

The Terriers wrap up their season with 2 home games, Steinbach this Wednesday and Winkler on Saturday.
