The Portage Terriers were red hot in the month of February going 9-1 and recording 3 straight shutouts.
Ryan Botterill was a driving force for the Terriers scoring 12 goals and 8 assists in 10 games. He was named the MJHL Player of the Month for February. The league also announced this week that he has been nominated for the Frank McKinnon Memorial award for Hockey Ability and Sportsmanship.
Defenceman Kian Calder was a key piece in the month of February for the Terriers recording 9 points in 10 games. He was named the Terrier’s MBLL player of the month, and the MJHL’s Safe Work MB defenceman of the month. He has also been nominated for the Brian Kozak Memorial award for the MJHL’s top defenceman.
Adding to an already strong month of February, Hayden Lacquette continued to push the pace over the last few games. He now sits 2nd in scoring amongst defenseman in the MJHL with 14 goals and 36 assists through 48 games and was named an MJHL Star of the Week.
