Terriers Selected To Western Canada Showcase

Two Portage Terriers have been named to Team MJHL for the 19U Western All-Star Challenge in Martensville, SK.

Defenceman Wyatt Dreger (06) and forward Drayden Uhrina (09) will be joining 11 forwards, 5 defensemen and 2 goalies from the MJHL for the three day showcase Nov. 3-5. They will hold two practices together before playing a pair of games against the team from the SJHL.

Dreger has started the season strong with eight points through 14 games. “I was very excited to be selected to the team,” says Dreger. “I am excited to be able to showcase my skills and represent my team!”

Uhrina has also put up eight points through 13 games as a 16-year-old rookie. “I was super excited and couldn’t believe it”, says Uhrina. “It’s a dream come true and this means everything to me and I am truly so grateful for this opportunity.”

Tristan Gravenor and Mitchell Kathler competed in the event last year on behalf of the Terriers.

The event will provide players from the MJHL and SJHL an amazing opportunity to showcase themselves in front of many scouts while trying to earn a roster spot on Team Canada West for the upcoming World Junior A Challenge being held in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec (December 7-13).

Good luck at the showcase!
