Terriers Send Williamson to the Blues

The Portage Terriers have traded F Ryan Williamson (06) to the Winnipeg Blues for the MJHL list rights to G Everett Winters (07).

Williamson (5’8”, 160) played well in the pre-season putting up three points in three games for the Terriers. In the regular season he had three assists through 13 games. Sent to Winnipeg on the weekend, the High River, AB, product already has a goal as a member of the Blues.

Winters (6’0, 141) is playing for the Central Plains Capitals U18 AAA and has a .885 SV% and 4.83 GAA through 16 games. From Winnipeg, Winters was named a CCM Hockey Player of the Week in October for his stellar play. Currently in grade 12, he was named the U17 Goalie of the Year last season.

The Terriers have made several trades over the last month. They sent Alex Thompson to the Blues for Dawson Madden, Jacob Armstrong to the Nelson Leafs, Reyd Langan to the Sicamous Eagles, Jonah Power Smith to the Ridge Meadows Flames and acquired Trey Penrod from the Yorkton Terriers. The movement will likely continue until early January at the MJHL trade deadline.
