Terriers Stall Pistons

Portage put their 3rd straight win together on the road tonight against the 2nd place Pistons.

Portage came out strong in the first controlling the play and never looked back.

McIsaac scored the team leading 6th goal of the season to open the scoring at 11:09 of the first on the powerplay. Steinbach’s Purtill tied the game at one, but it was short lived as Joey Moffatt found himself alone in the slot and buried his 6th of the season giving Portage a 2-1 lead heading into the dressing room.

Portage went on to score four markers in the second frame for a commanding lead. Leipsic, Zimmer, Barnstable and Oliver.

Portage let off the gas a little in the third and Steinbach’s Gula scored a powerplay marker 6:26 in.  Declan Graham cut the Terriers’ lead in half, but it was too little too late.

Portage picked up their 2nd win against Steinbach this season with a 6-3 final.

Brock Aiken picked up the win making 29 of 32 saves.

Next up for the Terriers is a road trip to Wayway this Saturday.
