Terriers Swap Defencemen with Nipawin

The Portage Terriers have traded 02 Brady Grasdal D to the Nipawin Hawks (SJHL) for 03 Ranon Joseph D and future considerations.

Joseph (6’5″, 201) played 23 games for Nipawin last season and 15 with the Drumheller Dragons (AJHL). The Sherwood Park, AB, product put up a total of eight points and 82 PIM.

“Joseph has good mobility for a bigger guy,” says Terrier Head Coach and GM Blake Spiller. “He defends well and can make plays. We like his upside.”

Joseph’s brother Talor played for the Terriers from 2013-15 and recently started in goal for the Toronto Marlies. His other brother Jadon spent four seasons in the WHL and is currently at Trinity Western (USports).

The Terriers give up Brady Grasdal who had 10 points in 45 games last season. “He goes to Nipawin which is a place he has some familiarity with. He is a great teammate and was very good in our community,” says Spiller.
