The Terriers offence proved to be too much for the Wolverines tonight in their first meeting this season. Portage outshot Wayway 43-18 with an 8-1 final.
Rylee Zimmer opened the scoring tonight in his first of 3 on the night picking up the hat trick in just his second game as a dog.
Ty Barnstable scored the eventual game winner in the first for a 2-0 Terrier lead after 20 minutes.
Chase Brakel picked up the lone marker of the 2nd when Stewart misplayed a puck behind his own net putting it on the Terrier Captain’s stick on the wall.
Wayway showed some life early in the third with Vautour picking up a powerplay goal just :23 seconds in, but James McIsaac answered 30 seconds later.
Portage went on to score 4 more goals in the third, including a shorthanded goal. Taylor, Zimmer x 2 and Dwyer all contributing.
