The Portage Terriers have traded G Ryan Velan (05) to the Cornwall Colts (CCHL) for a player development fee.
Velan (6’1,170) came to the Terriers early last season and had a 2.38 GAA and .918 SV% in 23 games. This year he started the season strong with a 7-2 record, 2.10 GAA, .925 sv% and 3 shutouts.
“Ryan was an excellent role model in our community” says head coach and GM Blake Spiller. “We wish him the very best in his future.”
With Velan being traded, the Terriers now have Mitchell Kathler (06) and Donovan Bodnar (05) as the goaltending tandem.
Good luck in Cornwall, Ryan!
