Portage picked up another 2 points with back to back wins in OCN.
Just 18 seconds into the first, Roy beat former teammate Wesley Ellingsen for his first of the season and an early Terrier lead.
Captain Ty Barnstable doubled Portage’s lead on the powerplay burying a bounce off the end boards when a Gisti point shot missed the net.
Halfway through the first Cody Thompson was assessed a 4 minute penalty for butt-ending and a 2 minute minor for holding that Portage was able to kill off.
Reilly Funk notched his first of the season and the eventual game winner giving the Terriers a 3-0 lead heading into the dressing room, Portage doubling up OCN 15-7 shots.
Logan Calder and Ty Barnstable scored early in the second to pad the Terriers lead and end Ellingsen’s night in net for OCN. Shortly after Jaden Pashe and Dustin Mozdzen scored to get OCN on the board much like last night’s game.
The third was uneventful as the Terriers played solid and limited OCN’s ability to get back in the game. Portage picked up the win with a 5-2 final Moore earning his second win of the season.
Next up for the Terriers is the Winkler Flyers this Wednesday at Stride Place. Clarity Vision is the Game Sponsor and we will be collecting Koats for Kids along with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
