The Terriers tie franchise record

Chase Brakel burying a Leipsic pass for his 25th of the season.

After the awards were handed out it was time to get down to business. In front of a packed house in   their last home game in the regular season, the Terriers were looking to tie a franchise record at 17 consecutive wins.

The game was fast and furious right from the start and it would be Mike Knaub to open the scoring at 2:21 of the first on a breakaway. Lisoway would tie the game at one on the power play and the 1600+ fans were in for a good game.

The Terriers would take the upper hand in the second as Brad Bowles would score early in the second on the power play. Brakel would then give the dogs a two goal lead on beautiful pass from Leipsic.

The Pistons came out fighting in the third and would claw their way back to a tie on goals from Martin and Bosc and the game would head to overtime where it was still undecided.

Brad Bowles would shoot first for the Terriers and score while Josh Bykowski would turn away all 3 Steinbach shooters faced to earn the win for Portage and tie the franchise record.

The Terriers have the week off before they head to OCN on Friday the 26th where they will be looking to break the franchise record with their 18th consecutive win.
