Two Terriers go for gold

Orr and Stewart in their Team Canada Toques in Cobourg.

Today two of Portage’s finest will go for gold for Team Canada West in the Junior A. Challenge. 19 year defenceman Brett Orr and 17 year old defenceman Dean Stewart will face Russia in the gold medal game in Cobourg, ON.

“ When you pull on that Canadian jersey and look and see Russia on the other side of the ice you know you’re going to be full of excitement and nerves, but I’m honoured to be pulling on  that jersey and seeing the maple leaf and playing for gold. “ – Brett Orr

“It’s a really good opportunity for us and I’m really excited. I think if we play the way we’ve been playing we should give ourselves a good chance to win gold here. It would be something to remember forever and it’s not very often you get the chance to win a gold medal representing your country. “– Dean Stewart

The game will air on TSN at 3pm CST. We all wish Canada the best as they go for gold.
