Laflamme Commits to DIII School

Terrier forward Gabriel Laflamme has committed to the Geneseo Knights (NCAA DIV III) for next season.

Laflamme joined the Terriers at the start of the season and made an immediate impact. He has been at or near the top of the team in scoring all season, and currently has 41 points in 46 games. The 20-year-old speedster is excited to be closer to his home of Boucherville, QC, next season.

“I decided to go to Geneseo because it was close to home and it’s near Buffalo so it’s going to be a nice experience. Also, they have a pretty good team and crowd every year. I felt that it was the best fit for me.”

He is planning on taking the business-finance program and hopes his time in Portage will have prepared him for the opportunity.

“In Portage I learned how to play the game on both sides and to play with confidence constantly. I also think that the values of the team and community have helped me a lot.”

Laflamme was recently named an MJHL star of the week, and the MBLL Terrier player of the month for January.
