Terriers wrap up the pre-season with a win over the Blues

The Terriers finished up the pre-season tonight with a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Blues at Stride Place.

Portage scored early when Jared Roy finished off a Seth Benson pass on the 2 on 1 just 2:39 in to the first. Aidan Buhler added to the Terrier lead when he blew down the right side beating the defender and slid it passed Gnidziejko five hole for his first of the night.

Dexter Kuczek had an opportunity on the powerplay to get Winnipeg on the board, but Zach Bennett came up with a big save to keep the game 2-0.

Portage ran in to some penalty trouble and the Blues scored 29 seconds in to the middle frame with the 2 man advantage. Buhler potted a rebound later in the period for the game winner and his second of the night.

The Blues would get within one with just over 7 minutes to go in the game when Armour beat Benoit with a blind backhand in front.

Portage starts the regular season this Friday in Winnipeg with the home opener back in Portage on Sunday.
