Bandits Best Terriers

Bandits score 3 powerplay goals on their way to a 5-0 win.

The Terriers faced the Brooks Bandits in their 3rd game of the WCC round robin tonight in Penticton.

The first period was fast paced with both teams creating chances. Brooks’ Mappin scored first after they intercepted a clearing pass by the Terriers. Both teams failed to score on their first powerplays of the game, Thiessen blocking multiple shots in front. Prkusic added to the Brooks’ lead scoring a shorthanded goal walking in and going glove side on a screened Aiken. Shots on goal after 20 minutes were 10-9 Brooks.

The Terriers ran in to penalty trouble in the second giving up 4 powerplays with one of them a 5 on 3. Brooks capitalized on 3 of those, Jean and Makar x 2 for a 5 goal Bandit lead outshooting the dogs 19-4.

The final frame was back and forth with neither team capitalizing. Brock Aiken records the loss facing 43 shots for a tough night.

Portage’s last game of the round robin is tomorrow night against the host team the Penticton vees, game time 9:00pm.
