Former Terrier McHale Dresses for the Capitals

Former Portage Terriers’ netminder Gavin McHale received a call-up by the Washington Capitals in Wednesday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.

6 foot 7 McHale, was the emergency back-up after Capitals’ regular Braden Holtby was sidelined due to injury.

McHale is currently the goalie coach for the women’s U of M Bisons. Gavin recently suited up for the Terriers Alumni game last weekend, last donning the Terrier jersey in the 2007-08 season.

This was the second emergency call up for McHale, last February suiting up for the Colorado Avalanche in Winnipeg.
