Offense Added For 2023-24 Season

The Portage Terriers have acquired F Nathan Lenoski (04) from the Winnipeg Freeze for the MJHL list rights to D Darien Schaan (04), a 3rd round pick in 2024 and future considerations.

Schaan patrolled the Terrier blue line for 32 games in the 2021-22 season and put up 4 points. Last season, the Portager played one game for the Terriers and 43 with the Charleswood Hawks (MMHJHL).  “With Schaan being registered in University, he felt it was a good fit for him to play in Winnipeg,” says Terrier head coach and GM Blake Spiller.

Lenoski (5’11”, 175lbs)  made the jump to the MJHL full time last season and led the Winnipeg Freeze with 20 goals and 21 assists in 47 games. At the end of the season he was named the team’s rookie of the year. “The Winnipeg product is a quick, hardworking player who will bring offense to our team” says Spiller.

The Terriers are just over a month away from the start of the preseason on Sept. 12. The regular season begins for Portage on Saturday Sept. 23 in Neepawa with the home opener Sunday Sept. 24.
