Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) and it’s eleven-member teams are pleased to announce the 2020 Auto-Protect list.

Each member club is given the opportunity to list two players born in 2005 from their respective home zone.  The 2020 Auto-Protect list features 17 players who will no longer be eligible for the upcoming 2020 MJHL Draft.

New to this year’s Draft procedures, teams will have the option to decline an Auto-Protect selection and defer that pick to Round 7 or 8 of the draft.

This year’s Auto-Protect list contains a total of ten (10) forwards, six (6) defensemen, one (1) goalie.

“The auto-protect selections are an important process for our clubs leading up to the Draft every season that can be challenging but very rewarding towards their future success,” MJHL Director of Operations, Kevin Saurette shared. “Many players who are protected during this process each season go on to become solid pillars of each club and stand out players in the MJHL.”

The 2020 MJHL Draft will commence on Sunday, April 26 at 9:00 AM.  Powered by Hockey Tech the MJHL Draft utilizes RinkNet Live Draft Centre technology to operate the entire draft proceedings. RinkNet Live Draft Centre provides a complete solution for leagues and teams to efficiently manage their draft day preparation and execution.  These confirmed draft picks are then made available online to the public in real-time for the benefit of all teams, players, and fans.  Keep posted to @mjhlhockey on social media for round-by-round draft summaries or follow live at www.mjhlhockey.ca.
