The Portage Terriers are excited to announce a great lineup of special events and fundraisers for the 2024/25 season! Mark your calendars and we hope to see you there!
The season get’s going with the Panko’s Food Centre Kickoff BBQ the evening of the home opener on Sept. 22! Music will be playing and the BBQ will be fired up in front of Stride Place before the game.
On September 29th we will be holding our first ever Orange Shirt Game in partnership with Arrowhead Development. We will be releasing new Terrier orange shirts, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the National Indigenous Residential School Museum.
Doug Gilmour has been named the guest speaker for our Annual Sportsman’s Dinner & Auction in partnership with Central Plains Cancer Services. This will be one banquet you do not want to miss!
The following night we will be partnering once again with KF Aero to honour those who serve and have served in the military. It’s always a special night.
A fan favourite is back again on Nov. 29 with the Teddy Bear Toss. Bring a stuffed animal to the game and throw it on the ice when the Terriers score their first goal of the game. All bears donated will be given to the Salvation Army for their Christmas hampers.
Our third year of the Ag Expo will be held on Dec. 4. This year it will be in the multipurpose room of Stride Place. It is free admission and all are welcome to tour through the trade show. Farm based guest speakers will be brought in and supper specials will be available in the canteen.
The MB Metis Federation is partnering with us once again for our annual Louis Riel Day game. This is a perfect afternoon matinee for the whole family.
New this year is the Portage Terrier’s Skills competition brought to you by Simplot. The players will be competing among themselves for the hardest shot and fastest skater. After the competition fans will be invited to skate with the Terriers on the ice.
