MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The Portage Terriers are excited to unveil the Special Event schedule for the 2026-27 season. Favourite nights like Orange Shirt, Teddy Bear Toss, Louis Riel Day and Military Appreciation are back for another year. Alumni night and Ag in the Rink have been added for this season. Orange Shirt Game – Sept. 27, 3:30pm vs Waywayseecappo Wolverines. In light of Truth and Reconciliation, the Terriers will be holding their annual Orange Shirt Game. Orange shirts are on sale at the Terrier store in advance and at the game. Part of the proceeds of the shirts will go to the National Indigenous Residential School Museum of Canada. Come early to hear the Spirit Horse Singers perform before puck drop.
Teddy Bear Toss – Nov. 29, 6:30pm vs Selkirk Steelers. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal and throw it on the ice when the Terriers score their first goal. They will be collected for the Salvation Army’s christmas hampers. New this year, the Terriers will be wearing “Ugly Christmas Sweater” jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game.
Ag in the Rink – Dec. 9, 7:30pm vs Virden Oil Capitals. Calling all farmers! The Portage Terriers will be celebrating agriculture with the Ag in the Rink night sponsored by MNP. There will be special Ag themed events throughout the night, and multiple Ag businesses will be set up around the rink.
Alumni Night – Jan. 9, 7:30pm vs Steinbach Pistons. Alumni Unite! Formers players will be celebrated and current players will be wearing a vintage looking throwback jersey that will be auctioned off. More details to come.
Military Appreciation – Jan. 29, 7:30pm vs Winnipeg Monarchs. The Portage Terriers will be honouring military members and veterans on this special night.
Louis Riel Day – Feb. 15, 3:30pm vs Winkler Flyers. The annual Louis Riel game sponsored by the MMF will kick off with a Metis sash presentation and will feature special entertainment. The team will be wearing a Metis jersey that will be auctioned off.
Skills Competition – Mar. 14. The third annual Skills Competition sponsored by Harlan’s and Pizza Pizza will once again pit teammate vs teammate in a fun showdown at Stride Place. Games will included fastest skater, accurate shooting and of course hardest shot.
