Terriers Acquire Hometown Talent

The Portage Terriers have acquired F Jaden Pashe (01) and F Jordan Boyechko (02) from the OCN Blizzard in exchange for F Aidan Shumka (01), F Jack Oleksiuk (02) and future considerations.

It’s a homecoming for Pashe (5’11” 181lbs) who is originally from Portage. He has spent the last three seasons with the Blizzard and put up 37 points in 91 games. “Pashe being a local player is a really good fit for us,” says Terrier Head Coach and GM Blake Spiller. “He is a quick hard-working player.”

The Terriers also add right wing Boyechko (6’3” 194lbs) who is from Brandon. He played one game with Winkler in the 2019-20 season before playing four with OCN last season. Spiller describes him as a “big winger with skill.”

Leaving the Terrier organization are a pair of players who came to Portage last off season from the Winnipeg Blues. Oleksiuk picked up one assist as a Terrier in the abbreviated 2020-21 season and Shumka failed to find the score sheet in his lone appearance.

The Terriers and Blizzard will play each other twice in 2021-22 with both games slated for the beginning of December. Portage will start the regular season on September 18th.
