Terriers Shut Out in Steinbach

It was a great 60 minutes of hockey in Steinbach last night between the top two teams in the MJHL. Petersen and Radomsky each making big saves to keep it to a 2 goal game.

Steinbach opened the scoring early in the first with Brendan Martin toe dragging a sliding Mackenzie Dwyer to gift Luke Bellerose an open backdoor.  Steinbach outshot the Terriers 17-11 in the first 20 minutes and the Dogs were unable t capitalize on 2 powerplays.

Tanner Mole gave the Pistons a 2-0 lead tipping a point shot passed a screened Lasse Petersen. It proved to be the last goal of the game as both goalies put on a clinic from there.

Jared Roy and Luke Bellerose dropped the gloves early in the 3rd, Roy looking to spark his team. Portage had their chances, but were unable to get on the board. 2 more penalties slowed their chance at coming back.

Terriers call a time out and pull their goalie with 1:09 left.

Petersen played his best game of the season, backing 47 of 49 shots.

Peterson stones Gaber in alone.
