Terriers Win in Wayway

The Terriers offence scored early and often in their 6-0 win over the Wolverines this afternoon in Wayway, all goals coming from different players.

Turner Ripplinger opened the scoring with his 17th of the season 3:17 into the first one timing a cross crease pass from Troy Williams.

Duncan Pierce doubled the Terriers’ lead 5 minutes later beating Labelle high glove on a corner pass from Ryan Sokoloski. The Terriers led 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Billaney, Leipsic and Brakel all added markers for Portage in the second period. Halfway through the frame Ty Enns and Morgan Poirier squared off and both were ejected for fighting.

James McIsaac rounded out the scoring in the third tucking one under the arm of Labelle for a 6-0 Portage final.

Petersen picked up the shut out and his 17th win of the season turning aside 26 shots.

Next up for Portage is back to back road games. Tuesday in Selkirk and Wednesday in Steinbach.
