Boyd Named RBC Player of the Month

Portage Terriers Jordyn Boyd has been named the RBC Player of the Month for March.

The 20-year-old Winnipeg born vet chipped in for 13 points in eight playoff games for the Terriers, who have now advanced to the MJHL championship to face the Steinbach Pistons.

When asked about playing the Pistons in the final round, Boyd was looking forward to it. ” I’m super excited to play Steinbach. I think it’s going to be an exciting series with a lot of intensity. ” Having been a part of the Terriers that lost to the Pistons in game 7 of the 1st round last year, Boyd is no doubt looking for a different outcome in this years final. ” I think my job on the team is to bring speed and energy to the line up and to chip in with the occasional goal. ”

Boyd talked about the personal accolades he’s received this year. ” It’s always nice to be rewarded for individual success, but at the same time during playoffs the most important thing is just doing the little things to help the team win games. ”

The MJHL final begins this Wednesday at the PCU Centre at 7:30pm. Tickets are now available at the PCU kiosk.
